In central european folklore, krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as “half-goat, half-demon”, who, during the christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with saint nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. Made with a wire armature and wrapped with various yarns and organic materials. The tiny mask is made of polymer clay and hand painted. The figure is accented with chains, bells and beads. He carries little hand painted “children” in a basket or bag on his back and a switch of birch branches in his hand.
