The story: little lady penny pocket is a slender wisp. She is the perfect size to tuck into a pocket or purse. She is a very freindly and thoughtful little doll who jumps at the chance to mingle with other woodens. Backstory: if i had all the time in the world i would spend it on pinterest looking at antique grodnertal dolls. There is just something so special about them. No two are alike and their facial and hair features vary greatly. Some are crudely carved and painted while others are so detailed they belong in a museum. The funny thing is, i adore them all equally because of their unique refined or unrefined charm. The details: penny pocket was inspired by traditional tuck comb dolls but with very detailed hair. She was hand carved from old teak wood by nong and painted and dressed by me, holly. She stands just 5.25″ to the top of her head and 5.5″ to the top of her comb and is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. I have hand stitched dress and pantaloons from cotton.
